Using a PDF tool for the first time

1. Choose a tool from the PDF Tools page, for example Merge PDFs. 2. Drag your file into the box, or press 'Choose file'. You'll see the file name and size once it's selected. 3. Pick your options, then press the main action button. 4. When it's finished, press 'Download'. The new file is saved to your device, usually in your Downloads folder.

What 'processed on your device' means

Most Docsora tools run inside your web browser. Your file is read by your own computer or phone and the result is created there too. The file is not sent to Docsora. Each on-device tool page shows a green 'Processed on your device' label. Tools that do use our server are clearly labelled and explain what happens before you upload.

Tools that use our server

A few tools (Word to PDF, Excel to PDF, Password protect and Remove password) need our server. Before you upload, you choose how the result is handled: 'Process and discard' (default — nothing is kept), or 'Keep for 24 hours' / 'Keep for 48 hours' so you can download it again with a private link. You can press 'Delete now' at any time.

I can't find my downloaded file

Downloads normally go to your Downloads folder. On a phone, open your Files app and look in Downloads. In most browsers you can also press Ctrl+J (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+J (Mac) to see recent downloads.

My PDF is password-protected

Most tools can't open password-protected PDFs. If you know the password, use 'Remove password' first, then use the tool you need. We never try to guess or break passwords.

A tool said it couldn't open my file

Try opening the file on your device first. If it doesn't open there, it may be damaged. If it does open, try saving or 'printing to PDF' a new copy and use that copy. Very large files can also be slow on older phones — try a computer if possible. If it still fails, please tell us using the Feedback page (you don't need to send the file).

Creating an invoice or quotation

Open Contractor Tools or Business Documents and choose a document. Fill in your details on the left — the preview on the right updates as you type. Add line items, choose your currency and enter any tax rates that apply to you. Press 'Download PDF' when you're happy. Nothing you type is sent to Docsora.

Turning a quotation into an invoice

When a customer accepts your quotation, press 'Convert to invoice' at the top of the quotation form. All your details and line items are copied into a new invoice. Check the invoice number and due date, then download.
